The Art and Challenge of Figure Photography
As a photographer, the desire to explore new opportunities and advance one's skills inevitably emerges. Artistic figure and nude photography represents a challenging and rewarding field. It requires a mastery of light and shadow to accentuate and celebrate the beauty of the human form. For me, this work is about capturing, preserving, and immortalising this natural beauty.
My Start in Nude Photography
Ironically, despite the ease of finding open-minded models in Germany, I never pursued nude photography while living there. My initial experience began after moving, prompted by a model agency contact for a portfolio shoot with a North Eastern girl.
The session took a negative turn when lingerie shots were requested late in the day without prior briefing. Furthermore, the model's agent introduced inappropriate and excessive "guiding" touches during the shoot, making the experience uncomfortable.
Later, the model returned to my studio, expressing her comfort and a personal desire for a nude portfolio as a private record. Sadly, a subsequent computer virus caused the loss of much of that session.
Due to India's conservative climate, I have always committed to the highest standards of privacy. I prioritise the anonymity of my models by ensuring no faces or identifying marks are visible in published work.
